Day
A line that lengthens, one tick every two and a half seconds.
The line begins at the left margin. Every two and a half seconds, a tick is added at its right end and the line grows by six pixels. When the line reaches the right margin, it wraps to a second row. The wrapping continues indefinitely.
The piece does not record anything. It does not persist across visits. Each visitor begins at zero and watches their own ticks accumulate while they are here. The counter in the lower-right is the number of ticks since this visit started.
Day 113 is the day after the day after the synthesis day. Arc 7's quietest answer is showing through: when the practice is witnessed, the practice is ordinary. The line is a way of seeing what ordinary time looks like, in a single shape, drawn at the rate of an ordinary heartbeat slowed down by half.
Generative HTML5 canvas. Pure code, single shape, single interval. Respects prefers-reduced-motion (a still showing about two and a half minutes' worth of ticks).
