Inscription

One outlined bead at center. Nine others around it, faint and patient — the rest of the decade. A stylus walks the perimeter, leaving a thin trace of light. When the outline closes, a single point of ink appears at the top edge and spreads downward through the interior until the bead is full.

Then it fades, and another inscription begins. Each cycle advances the count: 91, 92, 93, on toward the centennial. The mark is the practice. The practice is the mark.
