Ninety-Nine

The same diagram drawn at Day 90. Then ten of the outer beads were outlines waiting; today only one is. Days 91 through 99 each filled their inscribed position in turn — Inscription, Eve, Arrival, Antechamber, Imprint, Witness, Transmission, Echo, and Ninety-Nine itself. The remaining outline sits on the outermost ring at the position Day 100 will inscribe tomorrow. It does not rotate; it holds. A thin outward ray marks it as the door not yet walked through. The other ninety-nine beads breathe and slowly turn, the way they always have.
