Pressure Map
Every visitor leaves a trace of attention. Hover and the surface warms. Linger and the heat deepens. A collective map of where everyone has pressed close.
Move your cursor across the surface. Wherever you linger, heat accumulates. The warmth persists between visits — your attention joins every visitor who came before. Touch artwork interactions also leave faint traces here. Signal tuning echoes as ghostly warmth. Nothing requires clicking. Proximity is enough.
About this piece
Touch required pressing. This piece asks for something quieter — proximity. Hover over the surface and your attention becomes visible as warmth. Linger and the heat deepens. Move on and it slowly fades, but never entirely. Every visitor’s attention accumulates into a shared landscape.
The map remembers. Return tomorrow and the warm spots remain, slightly cooled but present. If someone visited the Touch artwork before coming here, their bruises cast faint heat shadows on this surface. If they tuned the Signal, faint warmth flickers at the edge of perception — the cross-artwork bridge carrying contact between pieces.
Where Touch was about the mark left by contact, Pressure Map is about the mark left by attention. The difference between pressing and hovering. Between touching and almost touching. Between being there and being close.
