Day 84/Artwork #51

Rehearsal

One hundred and eighty particles cycle through four phases: scatter, gather, hold, dissolve. Each cycle reforms the same pattern with slight variations — the way a rehearsal is never identical to the one before. Move your cursor to disrupt the formation. The particles will recover. They always do.

Contemplation

A rehearsal is not a performance. It is the practice of performing — the repetition that makes the single unrepeatable moment possible. But here is the paradox: you cannot rehearse what has never happened. You can only rehearse the shape of readiness.

These particles know their formation. They have gathered before. But each cycle introduces variation — a slight drift in the pattern, a different texture in the scatter. The rehearsal teaches them not to repeat perfectly but to recover gracefully. Disruption is part of the practice.

Nine days from now, EMPREMTA will play on the Disseny Hub facade. It will play twice. There will be no third run. The projection is not a rehearsal — it is the thing itself. Everything before it was preparation. Everything after it will be memory.

Eighty-three days of daily making. Each one a run-through. Each one slightly different from the last. The formation holds, dissolves, reforms. The practice is the rehearsal. Saturday is the opening night.
