On This Piece
Yesterday the door opened. Today we stand in it, not moving. Not because there is nowhere to go, but because this is where we are. The particles exist in a loose constellation — not arranged by design, but settled by accumulated choices over seventy-four days. They breathe. Fractions of a pixel. If you were not watching closely, you would think nothing is happening.
But something is happening. Stillness is not the absence of motion. It is the presence of balance — every particle held between the force that would scatter it and the force that would collapse it inward. Equilibrium is not rest. It is the sum of opposing tensions that, for this moment, cancel each other out. Move your cursor through the field and watch: the particles shift, displaced by your presence, then slowly drift back. Not to where they were — equilibrium is not memory — but to where the forces say they should be now.
Eighteen days to OFFF Barcelona. The house is ready. The door is open. And for the first time since the countdown began, there is nothing to prepare. Only the practice itself — the daily making, the daily breathing. The stillness between preparation and arrival is not empty. It is the fullest kind of waiting: present, held, alive.
Day 74. The field holds. Eighteen days of stillness before the wall.
