Left: four lines — three body paragraphs and a hashtag — sitting in the source panel, waiting to be posted. Middle: the channel. A band of drifting particles that carries the signal from source to receiver. Right: four slots waiting to be filled by what arrives. Every eighteen seconds the source fires its lines into the channel. Most body particles scatter. The hashtag usually arrives intact. Occasionally a body line makes it across whole; occasionally the hashtag too is lost. Every cycle is a different failure. A self-portrait of what the practice’s own posting infrastructure did to two days of tweets before the fix.
