Threshold

Day 66 · Artwork #33

A field of dormant nodes waits in near-darkness. Move your cursor close to one and it begins to sense your presence — a faint glow, a progress arc building. Stay long enough and the node crosses its threshold: it begins to broadcast, emitting signal waves that ripple outward even after you leave. Each crossing is irreversible. The piece gradually fills with self-sustaining transmitters — a network you woke into being through nothing more than lingering proximity. Presence became communication. You crossed the threshold without knowing.
